NFTRY Rapper Thre Uses Gift To Rep The Lord Well

In this episode, I interview Chicago rapper Thre who shares his Christian testimony.

During a pivotal moment of his life, before starting to walk with God, Thre “started desiring Him [God] before He started desiring him.”

Sometimes you have to take that initiative to reach out to God and ask for his forgiveness and allow Him to work in your life.

He started getting into music at the age of 11 writing other people’s rhymes and reciting their lyrics.

At the age of 12, he fell in love with secular music which he used to express his anger and the pain he experienced from having an absent father.

He also exclusively reveals the details of his marriage, dealing with divorce, and pressure from the perception of others.

There was a moment where he stepped away from music for a short period to serve God fully and get to know him.

Finding his calling, he set out to pursue his ministry becoming a youth pastor and leading a non-profit organization named Familyhood Ministries which now operates under other spiritual programs in Chicago.

Later he picked up music again but now doing Christian rap and getting involved in the  CHH Community and doing shows.

Rapper Thre additionally breaks down "Sirens'' featuring Eshon Burgundy & Mouthpi3ce, "Road Rage" featuring Jay Cabassa, "Low Fuel" featuring Kymar Garner, and “Traffic Jam'' in the 4-song-breakdown.

Key Points In Interview:

8:47 Thre speaks about how he made up his mind to give his life to Christ

10:00 Reading an important scripture in the bible, 1 Corinthians 13 [ which defines our definition of love]  motivated him to develop a relationship with the Lord

13:52 Thre begins to “feel some spiritual jealousy”, seeing his friend, who encouraged him to go to Church and flourish in the Lord's work

19:16 Pre-marriage, Thre speaks about how he “was not ready for marriage, not ready to lead, not anything.”

20:31 His marriage came to a conclusion when confronted with “I don’t know if this marriage is based on love more than it is religion”.

24:33 Most public figures feel obligated to share their personal life with their audience, but this was not the case for rapper Thre.

36:48 His stage name was changed once he joined the Hip-Hop group NFTRY.

47:41 The song “Traffic” was inspired by his long commute in Chicago city traffic and using that concept to write music others could relate to.
